Sandy Hook, 10 Years After: A Reading and Remembrance
Main Point Books, Delaware Country Moms Demand Action, and Red, Wine are co-sponsoring an evening for our community to acknowledge and honor the horrible violence at Sandy Hook Elementary ten years ago. We will hold space for remembrance, hear a reading from poet Owen Elphick, and hear from two social-change groups about actions we can take to stop violence in our schools.
Registration is requested via Eventbrite to help with planning; walk-ins are welcome.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. They were founded after the killings at Sandy Hook and have chapters in every state.
Red, Wine and Blue was founded after the mid-terrm elections of 2018 to engage women at a grassroots level around issues that matter to women's lives including abortion access, confronting book bans, and stopping anti-LGBTQ legislation in schools.
