Cynthia Newberry Martin and Jim Zervanos

Main Point Books welcomes author Cynthia Newberry Martin (The Art of Her Life) as she makes her Pennsylvania stop on her 50-state-bookstore tour. She'll be joined local author Jim Zervanos (That Time I Got Cancer). Each author will choose a favorite page from the other’s book to read and discuss. Join us as these two authors talk about what their books have in common and the magic of books and bookstores.

This event will be at 7 pm in our lower level event space. Reservations are requested via Eventbrite; walk-ins are welcome.

About the Authors

Cynthia Newberry Martin is the author of three novels—The Art of Her Life (2023), Love Like This (2023), and Tidal Flats, which won the Gold Medal in Literary Fiction at the 2020 Independent Publisher Book Awards and the 14th Annual National Indie Excellence Award for Fiction. She’s also the editor of the How We Spend Our Days series, over a decade of essays by writers on their lives, which is published on her website and as of 2023, also on Substack. She grew up in Atlanta and now lives in Columbus, Georgia, with her husband, and in Provincetown, Massachusetts, in a little house by the water.

Jim Zervanos is an author, teacher, and artist, who paints big colorful pictures in a garage converted into a studio, encourages high-school students to see beauty in the ordinary, writes stories about solitary souls who find their way home, and coaches Little Leaguers to swing hard at anything close.
